This article describes the filter "RMS creation" of the ToolScope which calculates the RMS of a sensor signal and delivers the result as a new virtual signal.

The "RMS creation" signal filter first carries out high-pass filtering with a high-pass of the first order. The high-pass filtered signals are squared and then peaks are removed with a low-pass of the first order. The filter output signal is the square root of the low-pass output.

This filter is ideal for simple evaluation of raw acceleration signals.

The "RMS training" signal filter is only visible if the internal "ShowDriverRMSCreation0" setting is set to "true".
