The oscilloscope is used for long-term documentation of processes and short time analysis. It is a base function of the ToolScope, which can be enabled even without set licences.

The measured values are saved in CSV format (Comma Separated Values), which can be read by Microsoft Excel, for example.

Press the "Switch on monitoring" softkey on the bottom left of the window to start the measurement. A new measurement data file is created each time a measurement starts. Press "Switch off monitoring" to close the current measurement data file. At midnight, a new measurement begins automatically.

Configurable parameters

Function name

Description

Display duration in seconds

Use this parameter to set the display duration. If this time is exceeded, the measurements continue to scroll through. With the default display duration of 15 seconds, this means that the last 15 seconds of the measurement are always shown.

Continuous measuring

If the checkmark next to "Continuous measuring" is activated, data is measured continuously. Since start and stop triggers play no role with this type of measuring, the options for these triggers are grayed out and any values already entered are ignored. Only the trigger channels selected in the left-hand window area are relevant for data recording.

Start trigger (relating to the first trigger channel)

If the checkmark is set next to "Use a start trigger", you can configure when the measurement should begin. In addition, you can select whether triggering should occur on a rising flank or a falling flank.

Stop trigger (relating to the first trigger channel)

If the checkmark is set next to "Use a stop trigger", you can configure when the measurement should stop. In addition, you can select whether triggering should occur on a rising flank or a falling flank.

Second trigger condition (relating to the second trigger channel)

The second trigger channel activates an additional condition. This has the effect that measurement data is then only saved if the sensor signal with the designation "second trigger channel" is within a defined interval. The first trigger channel has the higher priority of the two channels and is used to start and stop the measurement.

In the left-hand area, you can use the drop-down menus to select up to two channels for data recording. In addition, two trigger channels can be configured.
