The sub-point Service > Settings > Base > Network allows you toconfigure the network interfaces of the ToolScope.

Please be aware, that different ToolScopes The touchscreen version has just one network port, and therefore only the top interface needs to be configured here. The necessary settings for IP, netmask, gateway, DHCP, etc. must be provided by your IT department regardless of whether or not the ToolScope is connected to the corporate network and/or the machine network. On top-hat rail modules, the top network port is called "HMI", and the bottom port is called "Service".

Press on "Complete restart" to restart the device. During the restart, the device recognizes that the network configuration has been changed and checks the entries based on extensive plausibility checks. If these tests fail, the current network configuration is retained and messages are displayed in the self diagnostics.

Standard reasons for rejection by the device of a configuration set by the user (most frequent incorrect configurations):

  • The IP address of the gateway is not in the same subnet as the IP address of a network interface.
  • The IP address of a network interface or gateway also matches the subnet of the other network interface.

Note that the control panel software (TSVNCC) communicates with the device via the network. After you have changed the network settings, you will probably only be able to access the device from the control panel once you have also adapted the network settings in the control panel.

Incorrect configurations can cause the device to be no longer accessible via a network. In this case, it would be necessary to connect a monitor and keyboard to the device, in order to correct the network configuration.
