The connection is done by an Ethernet cable via the EtherCAT protocol.
The ToolScope is connected to a EtherCAT bus coupler. It communicates with the coupler. The modular input and output units are added to the coupler.

To supply the above mentioned modules with power and to connect them via EtherCAT to the ToolScope, one needs a bus coupler. This is E65 19010.
